Heidi Divis Obituary, Death; – The Council Bluffs Police Department has identified the woman who passed away after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday.
Authorities arrived at the location near 8th Street and Kanesville Boulevard shortly after 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
In a Friday update, police reported that the victim, a 47-year-old named Heidi Divis from Omaha, was crossing the intersection while disregarding the walk signal at the moment of the incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver entered the intersection while the light was yellow, resulting in Divis being hit and subsequently killed. Investigators are examining alcohol consumption, speed, and non-compliance with traffic signals as potential contributing factors to the accident.
Due to the driver’s apparent signs of impairment, the results of a blood test are still pending, according to a statement released.
