Robert Richardson Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a 74-year-old pedestrian who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident in Waterbury last month, and they continue to seek the perpetrator.
Waterbury police Sgt. Joseph Morais identified the pedestrian as city resident Robert Richardson.
Morais stated on Monday morning that the individual responsible for the incident, a 24-year-old resident of Waterbury named Jesus Gavidia-Vivas, is still at large.
The collision took place at approximately 10:20 p.m. on October 22. Police responded to a report of a person lying on the road in the 800 block of Wolcott Road and subsequently determined that it was a hit-and-run accident.
Richardson was transported to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for life-threatening injuries. According to police, he remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
