Michael W Hanley Obituary, Death;- State police in Sullivan County have identified the firefighter who lost his life in a crash over the weekend as 54-year-old Michael W. Hanley.

According to state police, Hanley, a resident of Langhorne, was involved in an accident while navigating a curve on state Route 87 in Colley Township on Saturday afternoon. He collided with several trees and was pronounced dead by the time first responders reached the scene, located just north of Holly Hill Road.

Hanley was serving as a probationary firefighter with the Dushore Fire Company, as announced by the company. He had recently retired and had joined as a new member.

He was in the process of training to become an apparatus operator and had registered for pump and driver training courses.
