Patrick Thompson Arrested; – A man from Levittown has been apprehended in relation to a deadly hit-and-run incident involving a motorcyclist in North Bellmore late Sunday night, according to Nassau County police.

Patrick Thompson Arrested;

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on October 26, when a 59-year-old individual operating a 2009 Chevrolet westbound on North Jerusalem Road collided with a 63-year-old motorcyclist who was heading eastbound near Sherman Avenue, as reported by homicide detectives.

Authorities stated that the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed immediately, pending notification of his family.

The driver of the Chevrolet fled the scene on foot, according to police. Officers conducted a search of the vicinity and found the suspect — identified as Patrick Thompson, 59, from Levittown — a short distance away. Police reported that he was taken into custody without incident, aided by the department’s canine unit.

After an investigation, Thompson was charged with vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an incident that resulted in a fatality, and driving under the influence.

He is set to be arraigned today in the First District Court in Hempstead.
