Lamontra Landers Obituary, Death; – The Indianapolis metro police have taken a man into custody for his suspected involvement in a shooting that resulted in one fatality and left another individual in critical condition last year on the west side of the city.
On Monday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department revealed the arrest of 22-year-old Rodney Scott. This development follows an investigation into a shooting that took place on December 13, 2024, in the 800 block of Cloverleaf Terrace. The incident led to the death of 26-year-old Lamontra Landers, while another man required medical attention due to critical injuries.
During the investigation, officers reported discovering a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Landers was located inside the vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives quickly identified Scott as the main suspect in the case after reviewing video footage, gathering witness statements, and analyzing forensic evidence. On October 22, he was arrested by members of the IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit in the 4200 block of Indigo Walk Lane.
Scott is facing preliminary charges of murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, classified as a level 2 felony. As per online court records, he is set to appear in Marion Superior Court 20 for a jury trial regarding this case on January 5, 2026.
