Richard Bowen Obituary, Death;- Family members have confirmed that the individual who lost his life in the explosion at a scrap metal yard in Walden last week was Richard Bowen, hailing from Middletown.
Relatives describe Bowen as a joyful and compassionate individual who spread laughter to all those around him.
“He was a remarkable person filled with joy,” a family member stated in a report to News 12. “He was always available to support others. He enjoyed dancing and telling jokes. He was an extraordinary friend.”
The explosion occurred last Wednesday morning at ASAP Scrap Recycling located on Route 208. Investigators indicate that a cutting torch ignited the explosion that resulted in Bowen’s death.
The incident is still being investigated by the Town of Montgomery and state police.
