Keisha Hilliard Obituary, Death; – A 42-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a residence in Mesquite on Sunday, according to police reports.
Officers arrived at the scene following a welfare check at approximately 4:18 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, in the 2000 block of Avis Circle, as stated by the Mesquite Police Department in a press release.
Upon arrival, police spoke with concerned family members outside the home and subsequently made the decision to forcibly enter the premises, officials reported. Once inside, they discovered a deceased woman who had sustained a gunshot wound, as detailed in the release.
The victim was later identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner as 42-year-old Keisha Hilliard.
Her death has been classified as a homicide, and the police are currently conducting an investigation, according to their statements.
