Kevin Peña Arroyo Obituary, Death;- The Horry County Coroner’s Office has announced the identity of the individual who lost his life in a crash that occurred on Saturday.
Kevin Peña Arroyo, a 22-year-old resident of Myrtle Beach, succumbed to blunt force trauma at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle he was operating, as reported by Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly after midnight on Forestbrook Road in the vicinity of Sugar Mill Loop.
The 2006 Volvo sedan that Arroyo was driving was heading south when it veered off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and subsequently collided with a utility pole, as detailed by Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway. During this sequence of events, Arroyo was thrown from the vehicle, according to officials.
Horry County Fire Rescue indicated that the crash led to downed utility lines.
The road remained closed for an extended period while utility crews worked to repair the damaged pole and restore the downed lines.
