Calvin Chester Jr,Roymad McDaniel Obituary, Death; – The Anderson County Coroner’s Office reports that two security guards lost their lives when gunfire erupted at a bar early Sunday morning.

Officers from the Anderson Police Department responded to Truth Bar & Grill located at 208 W. Franklin St. following a shooting incident that was reported shortly after 3:15 a.m.
Investigators indicated that a total of five individuals were shot, with two of them succumbing to their injuries. The coroner’s office identified the deceased as Calvin Chester Jr., 54, and Roymad McDaniel, 30, both of whom served as security personnel at the venue.

Officials stated that an altercation took place just prior to the gunfire. Chester sustained a gunshot wound to the head, while McDaniel was shot in the chest. Their deaths have been classified as homicides.

Autopsies for both individuals are scheduled to take place this week.

Three additional individuals were injured during the shooting and were transported to AnMed. Two of them received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, while one underwent surgery and is anticipated to recover fully.

Investigators have reported that multiple individuals were discharging firearms, and it remains unclear whose bullets caused the fatalities and injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, being conducted by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office in conjunction with the Anderson City Police Department.
