Sherril Sakas Obituary, Death; – Authorities are conducting an investigation into a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 70-year-old woman from Totowa, who was struck while attempting to cross Route 9 on Saturday morning.

As stated by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, the incident took place at approximately 7:33 a.m. near the junction of Route 9 and County Route 520. Investigators reported that the woman, named Sherril Sakas, was trying to cross from the southbound to the northbound side of the highway when she was hit by a Honda CR-V.

Sakas was declared dead at the scene. The male driver of the vehicle stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, along with the county’s Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and the Marlboro Township Police Department, is actively pursuing the investigation.

At this moment, no charges have been filed.
