Desmond Scott Obituary, Death; A man was fatally shot over the weekend in Wilmington, and authorities report that the investigation is ongoing as detectives seek to uncover the events leading up to the incident.

Police arrived at approximately 2:36 p.m. on Saturday in response to reports of gunfire in the unit block of Stroud Street, where they discovered a 33-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

On Monday morning, the Wilmington Police Department confirmed the identity of the victim as Desmond Scott.

Investigators have yet to make any arrests or disclose information regarding a suspect or motive.

According to the Wilmington Police, detectives are actively looking into the details surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been made, and officials have not provided information about a potential suspect or motive.
