Erica Wynn Obituary, Death; – Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a woman accused of fleeing the scene of a collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in Canton.
Erica Wynn, aged 45, succumbed to her injuries after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross Tuscarawas Street West on September 26, as reported by the police.
A warrant has been filed against 31-year-old Kalea Woody, who faces a felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident.
In a press statement, Canton Police Chief John Gabbard indicated that officers arrived at the 2400 block of Tuscarawas Street West at approximately 2:22 p.m. Investigators have determined that a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling eastbound, collided with Wynn, who was crossing the street heading north.
Following the initial collision, authorities stated that Wynn was propelled into the westbound lane, where she was subsequently struck by a 2018 Honda Civic.
Wynn was transported to a hospital, where she ultimately passed away due to her injuries.
The police did not disclose which vehicle Woody was operating in their release. However, they confirmed that the suspect vehicle has been recovered.
The investigation is being conducted by the Canton Metro Crash Team.
