John William Kirkland Obituary, Death; – The Kennedale Police Department is currently seeking a person of interest as well as a potential suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred over the weekend.
Investigators from Kennedale report that officers responded to a shooting in progress at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, in the 1400 block of Gilman Road.
According to initial reports, 43-year-old John William Kirkland was shot by another suspect using a shotgun following a “brief altercation.” His identity was confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Kirkland was transported to a hospital in Arlington, where he succumbed to his injuries about an hour after the shooting.
The motive for the shooting has yet to be disclosed.
Possible Suspect Identified
Authorities have identified Jackie Lee Allsbrook as a suspect. He is described as a white male, standing 5’9″ tall and weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last observed wearing a brown woodland camouflage shirt or jacket, black shorts, and black shoes.
