Ana Gutierrez-Cedano,Dominga Cedano-Cedano Obituary, Death;- A double homicide investigation is underway after a Columbia man allegedly shot three people at his home, killing two of them.

Police have identified the victims as Ana Gutierrez-Cedano and Dominga Cedano-Cedano, according to charging documents. West Hempfield Township Police officers were called to a residence in the 2100 block of Oak Hollow Drive just before 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting there.

Officers arrived on scene to find a male who’d been shot in the stomach at the entrance to the home, according to police. A family member of the victim reportedly told police that Santiago Payano-Sanchez, 63, of Columbia, had shot the male and two other people inside the home while two minor children were also inside. According to an affidavit, Payano-Sanchez lives at the residence where the shooting occurred.

Officers entered the home and found Gutierrez-Cedano dead from a gunshot wound, police wrote in court documents. Police said Payano-Sanchez surrendered to officers after trying to hurt himself, and he was taken for medical treatment.

Officers then found Dominga Cedano-Cedano dead in a second-floor bedroom with a gunshot wound, the affidavit says. Police talked to other family members who said they’d spoken to Payano-Sanchez over the phone earlier that day, and he’d admitted to shooting everyone in the house and apologized for doing so.

As a result of the investigation, he was charged with two counts of criminal homicide, one count of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of children.
