William Forbes Obituary, Death; – A man from Hereford Township was identified as the driver who lost his life in a two-vehicle accident last week on Route 100 in eastern Berks County, as reported by state police on Monday.

William Forbes, aged 70, was declared deceased by Berks County Deputy Coroner Hannah Cutshaw at the site of the crash that occurred on September 23 in Washington Township. Troopers from the Reading station provided the following details:

Forbes was traveling north on Route 100 near the intersection with Niantic Road when his vehicle crossed the double-yellow lines into the opposing lane, resulting in a collision with a southbound vehicle operated by David A. Dewey, 37, from Gilbertsville, Montgomery County.
Forbes’ vehicle ended up atop the southbound guide rail, while Dewey’s vehicle came to a stop in the southbound lane, facing west.

Dewey and his 68-year-old female passenger were transported by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for the treatment of minor injuries.
The Eastern Berks Fire Department, along with several local ambulance services, provided assistance at the scene.
