Rachale Francine Peloquin Arrested; – A woman’s high-speed rollover crash into a watery ditch resulted in the death of her 1-year-old son, while two other children and an adult sustained injuries, according to officials.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Hwys. 61 and 36 in Maplewood, as reported by the State Patrol. The deceased child was identified by the patrol as Revon Melvin Anthony Todd from St. Paul.

The boy’s mother, Rachale Francine Peloquin, 28, also from St. Paul, has been arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide, with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08%, which is the legal limit for driving in Minnesota.

As per the patrol’s report:

The SUV was traveling east on Hwy. 36 and was exiting south onto Hwy. 61 when Peloquin “seemed to lose control on the exit ramp while driving at a high speed,” according to a statement from the patrol.

The SUV overturned into a ditch and came to rest on its roof in 1 to 2 feet of water.

Emergency responders pronounced Revon dead at the scene.

Devon Todd, 6, and Drevon Todd, 5, both from St. Paul, along with Kenneth Alex Williams Jr., 32, from Mounds View, were transported to Regions Hospital with noncritical injuries.
Peloquin remained in custody as of Monday.
