Allison Seitz Obituary, Death; – Plano police have identified the woman who was fatally shot by officers last week. The incident occurred on Friday at an apartment complex located on 14th Street, near E. Plano Parkway, shortly before 5 p.m.

Authorities received reports that 32-year-old Allison Seitz was acting erratically and threatening others with a firearm. Additionally, she allegedly made threats to shoot the responding officers.

Upon locating Seitz, police attempted to engage her in negotiations to de-escalate the situation. However, she did not comply and became “increasingly erratic,” according to police statements. Details regarding the number of officers who discharged their weapons at Seitz have not yet been disclosed. An autopsy will be performed by the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

As is standard procedure following an officer-involved shooting, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Police also noted that Seitz had an extensive criminal record, which included charges related to child abandonment, family violence, assault by contact or threat, and interference with public duties.
