Carlos Jimenez-Molina Obituary, Death; – Carlos Jimenez-Molina Obituary, Death; The driver of a vehicle that became inoperable on Interstate 84, leading to a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals earlier this year, was apprehended this weekend on charges of negligent homicide and other offenses.

Jennifer E. Coronel-Pluas, 22, from Danbury, was taken into custody on a warrant Saturday after an investigation into the deadly incident that occurred on January 12, which claimed the lives of 27-year-old Ronald Omar Tello and 36-year-old Carlos Jimenez-Molina.

Connecticut State Police reported that the two men from Danbury were passengers in a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon driven by Coronel-Pluas, which became disabled in the left lane of westbound I-84 between exits 8 and 7 after colliding with a guardrail on the right shoulder around 6:30 a.m.

According to a state police report regarding her recent arrest, Coronel-Pluas is accused of driving at speeds exceeding 85 mph. A police report concerning the crash indicated that at least one of the men in her vehicle was believed to have exited the car — which came to a stop facing oncoming traffic — and stood near its side after the collision. The report identified Tello as a pedestrian and Jimenez-Molina as a passenger.

Subsequently, authorities stated that a 2021 Lexus RX traveling in the left lane of westbound I-84 approached the Hyundai while a tractor-trailer was positioned in the right lane and struck the disabled vehicle. The collision caused the Hyundai to spin in front of the tractor-trailer, resulting in an additional crash.
