Jeffery Campos Arrested; – A man has been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting in the River North area, as reported by the Chicago police.
Gunfire erupted at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Hubbard Street near State Street, in the bustling River North neighborhood, according to police sources.
Authorities indicated that the victim was involved in a confrontation with Jeffery Campos, 20, who then brandished a firearm and shot him. The 24-year-old victim was subsequently taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Campos, a resident of Cicero, was arrested roughly 12 minutes following the incident. He is currently facing charges of first-degree murder and a felony charge for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The identity of the victim remains undisclosed.
