Semaj Brown Arrested; – A man was shot and killed outside a business in Avondale early Monday morning, and another individual has been taken into custody, according to authorities.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reported that deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 90/Westbank Expressway at approximately 12:50 a.m. Monday following a report of a shooting incident.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered 25-year-old Semaj Brown from New Orleans at the location. Brown informed the deputies that he was involved in the incident, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
Additionally, deputies located an unresponsive adult male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene, and his identity has not been disclosed pending the notification of his relatives.
Detectives have secured an arrest warrant for Brown, charging him with second-degree murder. He has been booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
The sheriff’s office has indicated that no further details will be released at this time.
