Venancio Papalotzi-George Obituary, Death; – A Meriden man has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash on Route 66 that took place shortly before midnight on Friday, according to police.
Connecticut State Police reported that the victim was 46-year-old Venancio Papalotzi-George, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
At the time of the two-vehicle, head-on collision, Papalotzi-George was driving a 2012 Honda Civic, as stated by the police. The other driver involved, a 55-year-old man from Middletown, was behind the wheel of a 2009 Jeep Wrangler, according to police.
Authorities indicated that the Middletown man was taken to Hartford Hospital for potential injuries, but they did not provide any further details regarding his condition.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police reported.
