Tamara Tammy Towers Parry Obituary, Death; – The woman who was shot and killed at a residence south of The Junction on Tuesday has been identified, and law enforcement has provided additional details regarding the incident. We have incorporated these new details into our original report from Tuesday, while also issuing this separate update.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was 57-year-old Tamara (“Tammy”) Towers Parry, who succumbed to “multiple gunshot wounds.” She was a well-established physician who gained attention in 2021 due to a video that suggested her presence at the January 6 U.S. Capitol riot.

In the hours following her death, police indicated that the shooting involved Ms. Towers Parry and two other individuals. Today, they confirmed that these individuals had arrived at her residence with “papers.” (Her property was noted to be in “pre-foreclosure/auction” status, with an “unpaid balance” of $225,000; a “notice of trustee sale” filed with King County in May indicated that it was scheduled for auction two weeks prior.)

Authorities stated that Ms. Towers Parry “presented a shotgun,” and one of the individuals, a 40-year-old man, shot her with a handgun. After the Seattle Police Department’s update was released, we sought clarification regarding whether she had fired her shotgun, to which SPD spokesperson Det. Brian Pritchard responded, “The shotgun was not fired.”
