This happened on Tuesday at a home on New Zion Hill Road, according to a release from Whitfield County Sheriff Darren Pierce. Pierce says investigators identified the suspect in this murder as Terry Hill.

Authorities learned Hill was in the Chatsworth area. Officers from the Chatsworth Police Department located his vehicle on Highway 411 in Murray County and tried a traffic stop. Sheriff Pierce says Hill fled, leading officers from Chatsworth Police, the Murray County Sheriff’s Office, and the Eton Police Department on a short pursuit.

He was eventually stopped and taken into custody by Whitfield County deputies. Hill was taken to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he is being held on the charge of murder under O.C.G.A. 16-5-1(a).

“Our office stays committed to maintaining safety for the citizens of Whitfield County. That means finding and holding those accountable for committing crimes in our county,” Sheriff Pierce said.
