Feglys Antonio Campos Arriba Obituary, Death; – A 36-year-old man was shot and killed by a Denison police officer during a confrontation last week, according to Iowa officials.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., Denison police responded to a service call at Washington Park, where an officer encountered Feglys Antonio Campos Arriba, as stated by the department.
Denison police reported that Campos became uncooperative, leading to a physical altercation. During this incident, the officer sustained serious injuries and discharged his firearm. Authorities confirmed that Campos died at the scene.
The officer was subsequently transported to the hospital, received treatment for his injuries, and was later released, as per Denison police. The incident remains under investigation, according to officials. Denison police indicated that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the shooting, and the findings will be submitted to the Crawford County Attorney and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office for review.
Officials noted that the officer involved, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently on paid administrative leave.
