Boston Cassano Obituary, Death; – The Broward Sheriff’s Office has disclosed the identity of a man who was shot and killed by one of its deputies outside a McDonald’s in Cooper City on Saturday.

According to officials from BSO, Boston Cassano, aged 18, had been involved in a “physical altercation with his mother” and subsequently shot himself around noon. When deputies arrived at the restaurant located at 10260 Griffin Road, a spokesperson for BSO reported that Cassano “attacked” the deputy, which compelled the deputy to discharge his weapon.

Authorities indicated that medics arrived to assist Cassano, who resided in Cooper City, but he was declared dead at the scene. Medics transported the deputy, whose identity has not been publicly released, along with Cassano’s mother to a hospital for injuries that were not related to gunfire.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting an investigation into the deputy’s actions, as is customary in such cases. BSO officials have stated that support is available for individuals in crisis by contacting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.
