Gilbert Perez Arrested; – A Midland woman died early Saturday morning after a two-vehicle crash on North Midland Drive, according to the Midland Police Department.

The accident happened around 12:44 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Midland Drive. Investigators said a black 1999 Jeep Wrangler was stopped at a red light, attempting to travel northbound, when it was struck from behind by a white 2017 Ford F-250.

The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old Midland woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said her family has been notified.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 40-year-old Gilbert Perez, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.

Police said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
