Johnny Hackney Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist died following a crash in Fairfield County that happened last weekend, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on Aug. 9 around 2:10 p.m. on state Route 674 near County Road 41 in Madison Township.

OSHP said a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup truck was heading southbound on Route 674 while a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound.

The driver of the Ram tried turning eastbound into a private driveway, causing the motorcyclist to hit the pickup truck, according to OSHP.

The motorcyclist, identified as 73-year-old Johnny Hackney, of Columbus, was taken to Grant Medical Center and later pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Ram did not report any injuries at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
