Jacob DeSha Obituary, Death; – The suspicious death of an individual discovered in a remote forest area has escalated into a homicide investigation in Skamania County.
Following reports of a missing person, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search operation on July 20 at the last known location of the individual. During this search, a body was located near U.S. Forest Service Road 43.
Initially, the sheriff’s office indicated that it was looking into “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death; however, this inquiry has now been elevated to a homicide investigation. No further details regarding the circumstances of the person’s death have been disclosed.
The deceased has been identified as Jacob DeSha, a 20-year-old resident of Carson, Washington.
Detectives are urging the public to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles seen between July 1 and July 20 in the southeastern area of Road 43, as well as in the Hemlock and Stabler regions north of Carson. Residents in these areas, including those along Wind River Road, are encouraged to review their home surveillance footage from this timeframe for any unusual activity.
