Raymona Ford Arrested; – Bond was denied on Thursday for a woman who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the drowning death of a 2-year-old in Tallahassee.
Raymona Ford, 24, has been charged with murder and taken into custody following a “months-long investigation that concluded the child’s drowning was due to foul play,” as stated by the Tallahassee Police in a press release on Wednesday.
The arrest of the 24-year-old occurred nearly three months after police responded to a report at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments regarding “a child who had allegedly drowned in a bathtub,” according to the police department.
On the day of the incident, officers reported that emergency responders attempted to save the life of the 2-year-old before transporting the child to a local hospital in critical condition, according to TPD.
However, the child succumbed to his injuries four days later.
A thorough investigation uncovered that Ford had struck the 2-year-old multiple times, “resulting in him suffering seizures and ultimately drowning after being left unattended in the bathtub,” according to police.
As of Thursday afternoon, the nature of Raymona Ford’s relationship with the child remains unclear.
