Dennis Barriera Obituary, Death;- Authorities have disclosed the identity of the Waterbury man who lost his life in a motorcycle accident at a city intersection on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been named as 41-year-old Dennis Barriera, according to Waterbury police Lt. Ryan Bessette in a news release issued on Thursday.
Bessette reported that the deadly collision, which involved another vehicle, occurred at the intersection of East Main and Baldwin streets shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday. He noted that Barriera, who was operating the motorcycle, was taken to the hospital following the incident but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was unharmed, Bessette stated, and remained at the scene of the crash.
Bessette added that the incident is still being investigated by the department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
