Akeal Nechoma Brown Obituary, Death; – APD has identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash in south Austin last Friday.
28-year-old Akeal Nechoma Brown was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle crashed into a pole in the 100 block of Slaughter Lane at 4:04 a.m. last Friday.
Brown died four days before what would have been his 29th birthday.
Police say the crash is being investigated as Austin’s 59th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 63 deaths. On the date of this crash in 2024, 51 crashes resulted in 54 deaths, according to police.
