Stacey Dramiga Obituary, Death; – A woman from Texas, who was taking her morning walk along a well-frequented trail in San Antonio, was discovered deceased. Subsequently, law enforcement has apprehended a man on charges related to evading arrest and detention following inquiries into the incident.
On Monday, September 22, authorities located the body of a woman in a wooded section of the Salado Creek Greenway Trail, close to Dafoste Park in San Antonio, as reported by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased as 63-year-old Stacey Dramiga, a resident of San Antonio, as confirmed to PEOPLE by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that Dramiga was the victim of an apparent homicide. According to the autopsy report, Dramiga succumbed to “blunt force, penetrating trauma of the head,” as stated by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
On Thursday, September 26, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Marco Flores, charging him with evading arrest and detention, as communicated by a spokesperson for the BCSO in an email to PEOPLE.
“Before departing the scene, a BCSO Deputy engaged with a male individual,” the email indicated. “This individual was later identified as Marco Flores. “While conversing with the Deputy, Flores disclosed certain details about the victim’s condition that had not been made public.”
When informed that he would be taken to the Criminal Investigation Department for further questioning, Flores fled from the deputy, according to the email. Deputies managed to apprehend him and subsequently transported him to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for interrogation.
“Investigators conversed with Flores, but he did not provide any further information,” the email noted.
He was taken to South Tower, where he was booked and is currently in custody. It remains uncertain whether he has secured legal representation to advocate on his behalf. On Monday, September 23, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar conducted a press conference, informing reporters that the sheriff’s office had been alerted at 11 p.m. on Sunday night regarding Dramiga’s disappearance. Sheriff Salazar stated that Dramiga was last seen at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
