Luz Maria Amado Basilio,Esteban Alcantara Gerardo Obituary, Death; – Four individuals who perished after a vehicle became submerged last week in San Joaquin County have been identified.
According to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office, the four individuals who lost their lives after a vehicle went underwater early on August 4 in the vicinity of Eight Mile Road are:
Luz Maria Amado Basilio, 21, from Stockton,
Esteban Alcantara Gerardo, 45, from Stockton,
Julio Reyes Corraltitlan, 20, from Mexico,
Leocadio Reyes Guillermo, 27, from Mexico.
The Woodbridge Fire District reported via social media that it first responded to the submerged vehicle just beneath the water’s surface at approximately 4 a.m. along Rindge Road, south of Eight Mile Road.
Two victims were promptly located and transported to the hospital, while the other two victims were retrieved by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office dive team and pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The two individuals taken to the hospital subsequently died there, as reported by fire personnel.
