Sergio Hernandez,Eliza Elias Obituary, Death;- Officials have identified the couple who died in a murder-suicide incident Saturday night in Clarkston.
The couple’s children were in the house at the time of the killings and investigators have not identified a motive.
Sergio Hernandez, 37, shot Eliza Elias, 32, several times before shooting himself at their home on the 1200 block of Boston Street in Clarkston, according to an Asotin County Sheriff’s Office media release. The couple were already dead when rescue workers arrived.
The couple had two children, ages 1 and 3, according to a GoFundMe page started on behalf of the children’s caregivers. Their great-grandmother was also in the home caring for the children when the shooting happened. The children and their great-grandmother were not harmed. A firearm was found at the scene and investigators believe Hernandez was the only person involved, according to the media release.

“We’re still searching for a motive,” said Sheriff John Hildebrand, noting that the case remains under investigation.
The children are staying with their great-grandparents. The GoFundMe page can be found at bit.ly/3Hu1wcn. As of Monday evening, more than $6,700 had been raised toward a goal of $20,000.
Eliza Elias was a licensed vocational nurse and worked as a case manager for a home health care company for more than 10 years until June of 2024, according to her LinkedIn profile.
A cursory search of the internet turned up scant information on Sergio Hernandez. His Facebook page indicates he has been in a relationship with Elias since May of 2024.
