Kristen N Grissom,Christine Marie McAbee Obituary, Death; – Authorities are investigating a double homicide after the bodies of two women were found near a rural road in the Rembert area of Sumter County.

Around 1:17 p.m. Aug. 8, deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to Richbow Road after a landowner discovered the bodies in a clearing.
Authorities said the bodies appeared to have been placed at the location.

The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Kristen N. Grissom of North Charleston and 35-year-old Christine Marie McAbee of Walterboro.
Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said the incident appears isolated and there is no known danger to the public.

The sheriff requested that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assist with the investigation. Autopsy results will determine the cause and approximate time of death.

“We have begun our investigation, and we will have to wait until we have the results of the autopsies to know more,” Dennis said. “In the meantime, we cannot speculate.”
