David Lee,Brandi Smith Obituary, Death; – A 14-year-old boy fatally shot his parents following a late-night dispute, and subsequently called 911 to report the incident, as stated by Florida authorities. Trevor Lee is currently facing two counts of second-degree murder, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Michelle Cook indicated that dispatch received a 911 call shortly after midnight on August 4 from a 14-year-old who claimed he had killed his parents.
Lee mentioned that his mother and father could be located at their residence in Middleburg, and he had walked approximately a mile to a church, where he intended to wait for law enforcement to apprehend him, as reported by the sheriff. Deputies stated that they arrived at the church and took the 14-year-old into custody, while another group of first responders proceeded to the home and discovered two individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
The deceased parents have been identified as 44-year-old David Lee and 45-year-old Brandi Smith. “It seems that there was some form of domestic dispute last night between Trevor Lee and his parents, and that this shooting resulted from that altercation,” Cook remarked during a press conference. Cook noted that the teenager left the firearm at the residence, where it was subsequently recovered. At this time, deputies believe the weapon belonged to the parents. The investigation remains ongoing. Middleburg is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Jacksonville.
