Jose Ferreira Obituary, Death; – A man was fatally shot inside an apartment in Mecklenburg County on Saturday night, as reported by the police.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Jose Ferreira. According to records, a 23-year-old suspect named Johann Ibarra has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The incident reportedly occurred around 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at The Brook Apartments located on Oakbrook Drive in Pineville.
Police indicated that they responded to the building following a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon and, upon their arrival, discovered Ferreira suffering from a gunshot wound.
Reports indicated that immediate medical assistance and CPR were provided to Ferreira; however, he was declared dead within the apartment.
Ibarra, the suspect in this case, allegedly fled the apartment complex prior to the arrival of officers and was subsequently captured by police at a nearby gas station.
Reports mentioned that he was arrested without any incidents and taken to jail after being interviewed.NAuthorities stated that Ferreira and Ibarra were acquainted, and the shooting was not an act of random violence.
