Jennifer L Ayo Obituary, Death; – A woman from Covington was killed early Saturday morning in a three-car crash at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 36 and Highway 3241, authorities said.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m., according to Louisiana State Police Troop L. The victim was identified as 39-year-old Jennifer L. Ayo.
Troopers said Ayo was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro south on LA 3241 when she entered the intersection and crossed into the westbound lane of LA 36. Her car was hit by a 2010 Honda Fit that was traveling west. The crash pushed Ayo’s car into the eastbound lane, where a 2009 Ford F-150 then hit it.
Ayo was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt but suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Ford, who was also wearing a seatbelt, had moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Police said they collected routine toxicology samples from all three drivers as part of the investigation, which is still ongoing.
