Frederick McClatchie Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a crash that occurred on Saturday morning in Orangeburg County.
Corporal Nick Pye from the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place at approximately 1:40 a.m. on U.S. 301 (Five Chop Road). According to Pye, a 2004 Chevrolet SUV was traveling north on U.S. 301 when it veered off the road to the right, struck a tree, and subsequently overturned.
The driver, who has been identified as 34-year-old Frederick McClatchie from the Elloree area, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at the scene, as stated by Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle.
Corporal Pye indicated that the South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
