Rose-Lourdes Gerson Garcon Obituary, Death; – A 50-year-old woman, identified by Milford police as Rose-Lourdes Gerson Garcon, was fatally stabbed over the weekend by a teenage acquaintance.
Edouard Risch Oldens, 18, has been charged in connection with the fatal incident that occurred on Sunday. According to court documents obtained by Delaware Online/The News Journal, Oldens reported hearing voices that urged him to harm others, including a directive to “kill Rose” on that particular day.
Although Gerson Garcon and Oldens were not related, authorities indicated that they resided together in a house on the 400 block of Lakeview Avenue in Milford.
Details of the Incident on Sunday
Milford police received a call around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday regarding a man experiencing “mental health issues” on North Church Street, near SW Front Street. Upon arrival, officers noted that Oldens approached them with his arms raised, appearing to surrender.
After being placed in a police vehicle, Oldens was permitted to speak with his grandmother, during which he confessed to her that he had killed Gerson Garcon. Subsequently, he was handcuffed, and law enforcement proceeded to the residence on Lakeview Avenue, where they discovered the woman in a second-floor bedroom.
Authorities reported that she was found in a pool of blood, and a trail of bloody footprints led investigators to a bathroom where a large butcher knife was located beneath the sink, as detailed in the court documents.
The Delaware Division of Forensic Science has classified Gerson Garcon’s death as a homicide resulting from a stabbing. Oldens faces charges of first-degree murder and a weapons offense and is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution after being unable to post a cash bail of $680,000.
