Lynn Harris Obituary, Death; – The Tucson Police Department have identified the man who died after a fatal pedestrian collision occurred on Wednesday night.

TPD said Gregory Lynn Harris, 59, died after being struck by a car while crossing the road. The incident happened on July 30 at 7:45 p.m., near 1st Avenue and Fort Lowell Road, according to TPD.

Officials said Tucson Police responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a passenger car. Gregory Lynn Harris, 59, was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. Traffic detectives and the Crime Scene Unit are investigating.

According to TPD, investigations revealed Harris was crossing North First Avenue on foot and was not in a marked crosswalk when struck by a car traveling northbound. Excessive speed was not a factor, and the driver was found not impaired, TPD said.

Officials said the primary factor in the collision was Harris not using a crosswalk. No charges have been issued as the investigation continues.

Further information will be released as it becomes available.
