Morgan Myers Obituary, Death; 2 teens charged in fatal shooting during Springfield Township drug deal

Morgan Myers Obituary, Death; – Two teenagers are being charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated murder after what Springfield Township police investigation found to be a drug deal gone wrong.

A 16-year-old from Cheviot and a 16-year-old from Springfield Township were charged in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on June 9, according to a news release. Springfield police and paramedics responded to a report of a shooting on the 11000 block of Brookway Drive At 10:35 p.m.

When first responders arrived, they found an unconscious man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound. The driver was taken to Mercy Health-Fairfield Hospital, where he later died and was identified as 20-year-old Morgan Myers of Clermont County.

The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred during an arranged drug transaction involving the victim and the two 16-year-olds, police said.

The names of the two 16-year-olds have not been released by police. Police are asking anyone with additional information to call Springfield Township Police Department at 513-729-1300 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Myers’ obituary described him as a young man with a kind heart, a sharp mind and a quiet strength. He deeply loved fishing, cars, and getting competitive through video games. He left behind two parents, a stepfather, grandparents, nine siblings, and a long list of extended family members and friends, according to an obituary.
