El Moctar Sidiya Obituary, Death; – A 28-year-old man who lost his life after his vehicle was hit by a car evading police in Milwaukee has been named.
El Moctar Sidiya was confirmed by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday, July 30. His brother informed TMJ4 that Sidiya arrived in the U.S. in 2023 from Mauritania, a nation located in northwest Africa, in pursuit of a better life.
Authorities report that Sidiya passed away at the hospital, while his passenger, a 27-year-old individual, was transported to the hospital with nonfatal injuries. The tragic collision took place near Humboldt and Brady at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29.
As per police reports, the pursuit commenced after officers attempted to stop a driver they observed operating recklessly near Teutonia and North. The driver allegedly refused to comply, leading police on a chase before colliding with Sidiya’s vehicle.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle, a 22-year-old woman, was apprehended following the incident and taken to the hospital, according to police.
Criminal charges against the fleeing driver will be forwarded to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
