Travis Weams Obituary, Death; – The coroner has confirmed the identity of a man who was struck and fatally injured by a garbage truck on Airline Highway in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Travis Weams, aged 48, was involved in the incident on Airline Highway close to the state fairgrounds on Tuesday. The southbound lanes of Airline Highway were closed for several hours following the accident.
Emergency responders from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. George Fire Department, and Louisiana State Police arrived at the scene. The roadway remained closed between Industriplex and Manchac Park Lane for several hours, but it was reopened at approximately 9 a.m..
