Jakayla Holman Obituary, Death; – An arrest has been made in relation to a deadly single-vehicle accident that occurred earlier this year on Bloomfield Road.
The incident took place at approximately 3:54 a.m. on March 23, 2025. Investigators report that a vehicle heading south on Bloomfield Road collided with a utility pole. Upon the arrival of deputies at the scene, they discovered two young women unresponsive within the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Jaleah Freeman, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Her passenger, 19-year-old Jakayla Holman, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Following several months of investigation, Freeman surrendered to authorities on the morning of July 29. She was processed at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center shortly after 8 a.m. Freeman faces charges of homicide by vehicle in the first degree and aggressive driving. She is currently being held without bond.
The investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
