Wesley LePatner Obituary, Death; – Global financial institution Blackstone announced the loss of one of its “most cherished colleagues” following a shooting incident at an office building in New York City on Monday. The firm communicated the news of the death in a memo to its employees and subsequently identified the victim as Wesley LePatner in a public statement.

The assailant, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura from Las Vegas, opened fire at the firm’s headquarters situated at 345 Park Avenue. This building also accommodates the accounting firm KPMG and the National Football League, which was the intended target of the gunman. Three additional individuals, including a New York Police Department officer, were also killed during the attack. Tamura later succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

LePatner became a part of Blackstone in 2014 and held the position of global head of Core+ Real Estate as well as CEO of the Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, as stated on the company’s website.

“We are heartbroken to announce that our colleague, Wesley LePatner, was among those who tragically lost their lives at 345 Park Avenue. Words cannot adequately convey the sorrow we feel. Wesley was a treasured member of the Blackstone family and will be profoundly missed,” Blackstone expressed in a statement acquired by Fox News Digital.

“She was intelligent, passionate, warm, generous, and held in high regard both within our firm and beyond. She represented the finest qualities of Blackstone. Our thoughts are with her husband, children, and family. We are also mourning the loss of the other innocent victims, including the courageous security personnel and NYPD,” the statement further elaborated.

LePatner is survived by her husband, Evan, and their two children. She was actively involved in the Park East Synagogue in Manhattan, where she and her husband were honored with a philanthropic award in 2019. Additionally, she served on the executive committee of the Heschel School and was elected as a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in February.
