Christopher Cortez Johnson-Caine Obituary, Death; – The individual suspected of operating a vehicle that resulted in the deaths of two St. Cloud men earlier this month has also passed away.
On Monday, St. Cloud police reported that 26-year-old Christopher Cortez Johnson-Caine succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash on Wednesday, July 2. He had been in critical condition prior to his death.
The incident occurred on the 1300 block of 10th Avenue North, where a passenger vehicle was struck on the side by a truck. The two occupants of the passenger vehicle were identified by police as 59-year-old Suleiman Mohamud Abdi, who was driving, and 45-year-old Craig Arthur Hennen.
As per police reports, Johnson-Caine’s blood alcohol content at the time of the accident was .309, which is nearly four times the legal limit.
Authorities stated that an officer attempted to stop the truck due to the driver exceeding the speed limit and operating the vehicle without headlights around 11:45 p.m. on the 1100 block of 8th Avenue North.
Nevertheless, the driver fled the scene after discarding an item, later identified as a firearm, from the window. By the time the officer returned to his squad, the vehicle had already disappeared from view.
