Justin Adams Marshall,Michael Alfred Johnson Obituary, Death; – Two victims killed in separate Minneapolis shootings over the weekend have been identified. The first shooting occurred Friday morning at around 2:30 a.m. at West Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South.
Police found a man at the scene with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital. He’s since been identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as Justin Adams Marshall, 37, of Minneapolis.
Preliminary information from the Minneapolis Police Department indicates Marshall was speaking to another man inside a vehicle at the time of the shooting.
The second shooting occurred at around 1 a.m. Saturday at 24th Street East and 18th Avenue South in the East Phillips neighborhood.
A victim found at the scene later died at the hospital. He’s since been identified as Michael Alfred Johnson, 27, of Minneapolis.
No arrests have been reported in connection with either shooting. A third shooting was also reported just after 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue South in Minneapolis in what MPD called a “brazen” daylight killing. Police arrived to find a man in his 40s with serious injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the scene.
A suspect was arrested around three hours later when police found an armed man in his 20s on the 4700 block of Cedar Ave. South. According to the Minneapolis Crime Dashboard, there have been 31 homicides in Minneapolis this year. That’s down from 42 at the same point late year, and below the three-year average of 41.
