Samuel Holmes,Taylor Willis Obituary, Death; – Authorities have provided additional details regarding a collision that occurred on Saturday morning in west Charlotte, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to another.
The incident took place at approximately 11 a.m. on the outer loop of Interstate 485, situated between Wilkinson Boulevard and West Boulevard.
According to troopers, a Honda CRV was traveling in the middle lane while a Chrysler van occupied the right lane. The CRV veered into the right lane, colliding with the van. Following the collision, both vehicles veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a parked tractor-trailer.
The CRV was operated by Logan Sauer, a 16-year-old from Mooresville. Sauer was the sole occupant of the vehicle and tragically lost his life in the incident.
Troopers reported that the van contained six occupants. Of these, five individuals were killed in the crash. The lone survivor, a 16-year-old girl, was transported to the hospital for medical treatment of her injuries.

Troopers confirmed that the driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed in the incident.
The investigation into the collision remains active, and no charges are anticipated to be filed.
