Joanna Rogers Obituary, Death; – Police officers in Lewisville shot to death a woman who held a handgun as they tried to arrest her early Thursday, the police department said.

A Lewisville officer about midnight conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the driver was suspected of having a felony warrant.

The driver, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 43-year-old Joanna Rogers, sped from the traffic stop, police said. She was alone.

Police chased Rogers through multiple jurisdictions in North Texas. During the pursuit, Rogers caused a collision with a Lewisville Police Department patrol vehicle and continued to flee, police said. The officer involved in that crash was not injured.
